Aluminium bronze continuous casting

Continuous casting

Aluminium bronze are a family of copper based alloys including nickel, aluminium and iron which gives both a good corrosion resistance , in particular in sea water, and good mechanical properties.

NAB alloys are mainly used in sand casting for large size complexes and engineered components. Copper based alloys can also available in different elaboration standards such as :

Continuous casting is a process to get straight bars either to directly machine components in aluminium bronze or to forge them . Our capabilities enable us to deliver rough machined continuous casted aluminium bronze billets in various alloys and sizes :

The main international standards for continuous castings are :

  • EN 1982 (such as CuAl10Fe5Ni5-GC)
  • ASTM B 505 (such as C95800)

And like for sand casting, other specific grades are available to meet certain requirements such as Inoxyda 154 to reach high mechanical properties or Inoxyda 53AMA for low magnetic aluminium bronze.

Plates are mainly used for welded construction and are available according to different standards :

Grade Inoxyda 90 ASTM B171 C63000 EN 1653 CuAl10Ni5Fe4
ou CW307G
Thickness 4 à 25 mm
Standard Dimensions 1 000 x 2 000 mm
